About
Motherhood changes us in beautiful ways. It also changes the way we experience the world.
A trip to the museum becomes keeping little hands out of exhibits. A gallery visit becomes answering questions instead of asking our own. We spend so much time helping others discover the world that we rarely have the chance to explore it ourselves.
Mothers Who Wonder was created to change that.
We believe curiosity deserves a place in motherhood.
We bring mothers together through thoughtfully curated museum visits, gallery outings, lectures, and creative workshops designed to inspire conversation, connection, and lifelong learning. There are no art history degrees required, no pressure to have the “right” interpretation, and no expectation beyond showing up with an open mind.
Whether we’re standing in front of a single painting for twenty minutes, listening to an artist share their work, or discussing an exhibition over coffee, we create space to slow down, look closely, and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that are nourished by art, history, ideas, and culture.
Mothers Who Wonder is more than a social group. It is a community built on the belief that cultural experiences are a form of self-care—not because they help us escape motherhood, but because they help us remain fully ourselves within it.
We started in Leiden with a simple idea: every mother deserves room to wonder.
Our hope is to build a global community of curious mothers exploring museums, galleries, and cultural spaces together—one city at a time.
Welcome. We can’t wait to wonder with you.
